Export
Render a crisp 1080p MP4 in the cloud, in landscape, portrait or square for any platform.
Questions
Do I need a GPS file?
No. Type the places you went, in order, and pick how you travelled between them. Driving, walking and cycling follow real roads; flights draw an arc. If you have a file, GeoJSON, GPX and KML up to 10 MB work too, and you can mix a file with typed stops.
What kinds of trips does it work for?
Anything that goes from place to place. Road trips, multi-city tours, a backpacking summer, a year in a van, a flight path, a hike, a marathon, a sailing passage, a delivery route. One stop or fifty.
Can it show each stop?
Yes. Each stop gets a pin and a name that appear as the marker arrives, and the clip can pause there for a moment before moving on. Rename any stop, hide the ones you do not want marked, and open with a title card.
What does a credit buy?
One credit renders one minute of video, rounded up, so a 40-second clip costs one credit and a 3-minute clip costs three. You start with 10 free credits, no card needed. Credits do not expire.
What do I get at the end?
An MP4 at 1080p, in landscape, portrait or square, from 3 seconds up to 5 minutes long. Rendering runs in the cloud; the editor shows the progress and the file downloads as soon as it is done.
How do I get a GPX file out of Strava or Garmin?
On Strava, open an activity and choose Export GPX from its menu. In Garmin Connect, open the activity, click the gear icon and choose Export to GPX. Komoot and Wahoo have an Export option on each tour and workout.
Can I post the video anywhere?
Yes. The video is yours to share on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Strava or your own site.
What happens to my route data?
Your stops and route are stored with your project so you can tweak and re-render it. Nothing is shared or made public. Delete the project and the route goes with it.
Do I need to install anything?
No. CartoClip runs in the browser. You see a live preview while you edit, and the rendering happens on our servers.
